Trained to Clean the Potty!

I guess Jace got sick of the dust left on his potty so he decided to clean the blasted thing.  We try but I guess he just isn't interested in his potty the way we would like him to be.  At least he likes it clean!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACEY!

Last saturday was Jace's 2nd birthday.  We had a party at our house and all of Jace's friend came and played.  It was Gracie Youngs 2nd birthday as well as Jake Richards 27th so we celebrated all together.  We also want to wish a late happy birthday to Ethan Sorensen who also had a bithday on the 10th of November.  We miss you Ethan and we hope you had a special day.  At the birthday party for Gracie, Jace and Jake we had cake and ice cream and since we all didn't want to be hungry for swimming we had little ceazars pizza.  Daddy attempted to make balloon animals for the kids as well as some pretty creative balloon hats.  After we opened gifts for the two kids we went to the sportplex for a little pirate swimming.  At the sportplex they have a pirate ship water slide, a rope swing, and a diving board.  We would like to thank Kevin Calder for his great entertainment on the diving board.  Hope your color comes back!  To end the day we hung out in our nice warm home while it snowed 1 to 2 inches out side.  Our first Nova Scotia snow!  Jace had a great day and we want to thank all of you who made it such a special day for him.

FEEDING MISSIONARIES

Jake and Jace with the Elders:  Elder Case, Folsom, Maughan, and Cunningham

One thing we love in Nova Scotia is feeding the missionaries!   It was a sad week though because Elder Cunningham is leaving us.  Jake is assistant ward mission leader and he said that he will miss Elder Cunningham a lot.  He was a good Elder as all of the Elders we have here are.

HURRICANE NOEL

SOME HOW THE HURRICANE MANAGED TO KEEP THESE PUMPKIN SCARECROWS UP BUT BLOW DOWN TREES BY THE MASSES!
AS SOME OF YOU ALREADY KNOW WE HAD A HURRICANE HERE IN NOVA SCOTIA.  IT WAS A LITTLE SCARY BUT WE ALL LIVED AND THERE WAS VERY LITTLE DAMAGE AROUND OUR COMMUNITY.  WE DID SEE A TREE THAT CRASHED DOWN ON A CAR, A DRIVEWAY COVERED WITH WASHED UP ROCKS, AND A CAR STUCK IN THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THAT HAD BEEN HIT WITH A FEW WAVES.
THIS IS AROUND 11:00 AND THE WAVES WERE STARTING TO DIE DOWN.  THEY SAY THEY REACHED UP TO 40+ FEET HIGH.
THIS IS THE DRIVEWAY THAT GOT COVERED WITH ROCKS.  THE WINDS WERE AMAZING AND THE RAIN CAME DOWN HARD.  THE POWER WAS OUT PRETTY MUCH EVERYWHERE EXCEPT OUR HOUSE (WE WERE LUCKY).  THEY EVEN CANCELLED CHURCH BECAUSE OF THE POWER OUTAGE.  SINCE CHURCH WAS OUT WE DECIDED TO GO FOR A DRIVE WITH OUR FRIENDS JOSH AND JULIA BLAKENEY.  IT WAS GOOD TO HAVE IT OVER WITH!

THANKSGIVING (CANADIAN STYLE) WAS GREAT!! Now we can't wait for our American Thanksgiving.

We ate a great hearty turkey meal at Brig and Annie Youngs house. Brig is a fourth year dental student who works out with Jake in the mornings before school.

"Can I get some suction over here."  This is Travis Buxton, a 2nd year student, and his dental assistant Madison his daughter.  He did a great job at carving the turkey and ham.

"We have a root canal!"

We went picking apples in the Valley with the Richards, Taylors, and the Redds.  It was so much fun and now we have a 20 lb. bag of apples that we need to eat up!

After picking apples we went to a pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin for Jace.  He can't wait to turn it into a jack-o-lantern.

OUR WEEK

Happy Anniversary to us!  We can't believe that it has been FOUR years.  We had an amazing dinner on the waterfront and we would like to give a special thanks to our babysitters, Curtis and Jo Taylor and Julia Blakeney.
Here is the ring I custom made for my dear wife.  Ok, so I didn't make it or pick it out for her but I did surprise her at 1 AM  in the morning by placing it on her finger and if you know Melese you know that that is a bad time to be doing anything but she was so excited and happy she didn't even realize it was so early in the morning.  We found the ring back home in Logan and I stuffed it away nice and protected so she wouldn't find it because she had no clue that I bought it for her.  Just the thought of her being excited and happy made the long day at school bearable.  She is the best Wife in the whole entire universe!
I learned on my mission to Italy that when in Rome do as the Romans.  I guess this works here as well, when in Canada play Hockey!  Jace gets so excited to play hockey with Daddy in the house.  I dare say that he is obsessed with hockey!  He loves to dress up in Daddy's gear and prance around the house smacking every wall in the way.  I just hope he keeps his excitement for hockey so he can play peewee league.
On ice or on asphalt you can be sure to see Jace playing hockey
Look at his perfect form when going after the ball.   I can see the Stanley Cup now sitting on our entertainment center.  GOOOOOOOOOO JACEY!!!!!!!!!!!! OLE! OLE! ( oh yea, that is soccer) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Mommy and Jace on the pier in Lunenburg
                 Father and Son, How precious
Jace listened to some good old fish stories for hours

You maybe wondering why our post is titled thanksgiving weekend and that is because as American/Canadians we get to celebrate Turkey Day TWICE!!!! God Bless the Turkey! So far we have traveled to a town called Lunenburg. It is on one of the top 1000 places to see before you die so we thought, WHAT THE HECK, LETS GO! It is known for its rich history in fishing and its amazing sailboat the Bluenose. The trees are starting to change and it made the trip very beautiful.  Happy Conference Weekend everybody

Good times in Nova Scotia

The weeks are going by so fast and we are having too much fun here with our new friends. On wednesday we had a group of us who all went to crystal crescent beach and had an amazing fire on the beach and we also were accompanied by a beautiful full moon which made the night even more amazing. Although the water was very chilly, the men managed to get a running start and dive in. The manly men are worth mentioning: Me, Jared white, Donny Allred, Mark Redd and Jake Richards. Also this week Melese took Jace to play group at the Youngs house and he loved it. He has many friends and he enjoyed his time spent with them. The highlight of the week had to of been the Friday night hockey game with the mighty Mooseheads from Halifax against the Mainiacs from Maine. It was great and we owe it all to Travis and Becky Buxton who gave us the tickets. Jace is forever a hockey fan and he will not put down his new moosehead hockey puck and stick. We hope all is going well with our family and friends in Utah and we want you to know that we miss you and we can't wait to see you this summer.
